We represent members’ interests through engagement in the UK with Government, the regulators and other stakeholders in the industry and through involvement at the European level. Engagement means we can work to shape the regulatory landscape and on the design of legislation to minimise the adverse impact on industry whilst meeting the regulatory outcomes it is intended to achieve.

In the UK, BCA is a member of many bodies including :

UK Chemicals Stakeholder Forum
Alliance of Chemical Associations
British Cleaning Council
Process Safety Management Competence Programme Board
Environment Agency Chemical Industry Liaison Group
Defra Chemicals Policy and Communication Forum
CBI

Trade Association Forum
Industry Council for Packaging and the Environment Trade Association Group

Fund for the Replacement of Animals in Medical Experiments
Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group

We also contribute to the work of others such as BSI and the Legionella Control Association and have contacts in BEIS, DIT, Defra and other Government Departments and in the HSE and other competent authorities in the UK.

At the European level, BCA is a member of the European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients and the Biocides for Europe and CESIO surfactant producers sector groups of Cefic. We also contribute to the work of the European standards organisation CEN.
